What we store
Alpha-gal stores the account, profile, and sensitivity data you enter to run the app's features. We never sell your data, and we do not use advertising or third-party analytics.
What leaves your device, and where it goes
When you scan a label photo, the image is sent to our AI provider to read the ingredient text. Photos are not stored by the app beyond that scan. Barcodes go to Open Food Facts, and medication lookups go to the U.S. FDA (openFDA) service, to retrieve ingredient lists.
Your logs and reports
Your reaction and meal logs are stored privately in your account and are never shared. When you export a report, it is generated on your device and shared only with whoever you send it to.
The community tick map
Sharing a tick bite to the community map is opt-in, and only a coarse, aggregated signal is ever shown to others — never your exact location.
Deleting your data
You can permanently delete your account and all of your data at any time from More → Account → Delete account. This removes your data; it is not a deactivation.
