Acceptance
By creating an account or using Alpha-gal ("Alpha-gal", "the app", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What the app does (and doesn't)
Alpha-gal helps you record and organize information related to alpha-gal syndrome — ingredient and medication information, reaction and meal logs, an emergency card, tick-bite records and maps, community directories, recipes, and an informational assistant. The information it surfaces (including ingredient "risk" indicators and assistant answers) may be incomplete or inaccurate and must not be relied upon as medical guidance. You are responsible for verifying anything that affects your health with a qualified professional and with product labeling.
Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account, including data you enter for dependents you manage.
- You can delete your account at any time from More → Account → Delete account.
Community content & conduct
Some features let you submit content (reviews, suggested places/doctors, recipes, feedback). You are responsible for what you submit and grant us a license to store and display it to operate those features. Do not submit content that is unlawful, misleading about safety, infringing, or abusive. Submitted content is moderated, and we may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these Terms.
Donations
Donations are voluntary contributions that support the app's development. They do not unlock features, are not tax-deductible, and are generally non-refundable except as required by the applicable app store or law. On iOS, donations are processed by Apple; on Android and web, by Stripe.
Intellectual property
The app and its content (excluding your data and third-party data) are owned by us or our licensors. Third-party data is used under its respective licenses — for example, product data from Open Food Facts under the Open Database License, and U.S. FDA data in the public domain.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any health outcome, arising from your use of or reliance on the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Changes & termination
We may modify the app or these Terms; material changes will be noticed in the app. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
