Common questions

Is Alpha-gal medical advice?

No. It is an informational tool. It never declares any food, product or medication definitively safe, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Confirm anything affecting your health with a qualified professional and with the product labelling. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

How do I delete my account and my data?

In the app, go to More → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and your data — it is not a deactivation. If you cannot get into the app to do it, email support@alphagal.app from the address on the account and we will do it for you.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. There is no subscription, no paid tier and no ads. Donations are voluntary, do not unlock any feature, and are not tax-deductible.

Something is flagged wrong. How do I report it?

Please tell us — this is the most useful mail we get. Email support@alphagal.app with the ingredient or product and what you expected to see. Corrections to safety information are treated as priority.

I found a bug, or the app crashed.

Email us with your device, the app version (More → About), and what you were doing when it happened. Screenshots help.

Can I help test it?

Yes. The app is not on the App Store or Google Play yet. If you have alpha-gal syndrome and want early access, email support@alphagal.app.

Where does the information come from?

Ingredient lists come from your own scans, from Open Food Facts for barcodes, and from the U.S. FDA's openFDA service for medications. Educational articles are sourced. None of it replaces a conversation with your clinician.

Important
